This is everything I am planning to get in a couple of years. I may be ahead of myself, but I think it will be worth saving up for all of these parts. If you notice any problems, please tell me. The only part that I am reusing is my processor, an I5 8400. The revision is U0, which is the same on the motherboard's website, so I'm sure it will work with the motherboard. I am also sending amazon links to each part.

I hope it will be worth it, as this might be my final personal PC. Of course, things might change in the future, and I might want to upgrade the processor and GPU.
(btw RAM X2 means I'm ordering two. This might sound stupid that I'm not getting a kit, but it doesn't really matter to me. Plus, in the future, I might order another RAM stick. 8 GB will do for now, once the build is completed.

I do have a question though, even though all of these parts will be outdated (some probably are lmao) would the processor even work with the motherboard?
In a way, whilst still good, they already are. It's the way with tech, you'll pretty much be outdated every 6 to 12 months. Not to say outdated is bad, but as new things are released, the dynamic will change and one should always re-evaluate.

Yeah, you are all right. I guess i'll be keeping the list though. I have checked before and I think everything is compatible, but honestly, I think I just got kicked in the face by this. Guess i'll plan 2 years from now.
No nothing to take anything bad from. And I also hope it didn't come across like we were attacking this. It's...

The reason why I'm getting a fan splitter is because I will be connecting it to the cpu fan header. This is because it should be possible to connect any fan to a fan header. I do know that the fan speeds will change according to the CPU's temperature, but I should be able to to go in the UEFI and change the fan speeds manually. The CPU fan will be plugged into the SYS fan header. It's pretty close to the CPU as well, so aesthetics might be easy to handle.

It might not matter to you, but it does matter to your PC. Mixed RAM modules are not guaranteed compatibility, there is a reason why RAM is sold in packs.

Also the PSU is poor really.

This is everything I am planning to get in a couple of years. I may be ahead of myself
Nothing wrong with planning ahead, by a couple of years I DEFINITELY wouldn't be planning for now. There will be lots of new products out by that point so the nature of the market will likely change and value for money will shift.

If I were you, set a budget, save to that budget, THEN ask for build advice,
because there is no way I'd likely be recommend building this system in 2 years.

No nothing to take anything bad from. And I also hope it didn't come across like we were attacking this. It's just we know the plan will change and if you got this in 2 years, you'd likely be getting very poor value for money, and worse performance/quality that you possible could get for the same money.

Set a budget and go for it my friend! Then we'd be more than happy to help put a spec list together when you're ready. :)
