My 1tb hitachi external hard drive wont let me load my music how do i rectify th

I got a friend to load my 1tb Hitachi hard drive a while back now I am trying to load more music and remove old but it does not let me an error code keeps coming up insead, but my other hard drive works perfectly 🙁 🙁

If you're trying to get rid of all old data you can re-format the drive from windows disk manager. The wizard will ask if you're making a boot drive, answer "no". Once re-formatted you should be able to write anything you like to the drive.
