Question My 2TB external Seagate HDD shows less space

Hi,

My 2TB Seagate External HDD only shows 465GB total disk space (not free space). In Disk Management, I only see 465.75GB on the left side (right under Disk2, Basic). I tried deleting all partitions and tried a Clean using DiskPart but I cant seem to find this missing 1.5TB of space.

Can someone give me some tips on how to recover this unusable disk space? Could it be that it was formatted or reserved somehow?

Under the "general" tab, it should be something like ""STBV2000100".

With Disk Management & DiskPart showing you a 500GB drive, I'd be suspicious someone has replaced the internal drive at some point - if purchased used.

If this is a known 2TB drive that's just randomly started showing as 500Gb, that's very, very strange...

General Tab does not have a model number :

I used this drive to install Ubuntu and / or used it with my NVidia Shield TV as a external storage. Is it possible that the partitions are somehow very messed up on this disk?
Does Disk Manager ALWAYS see all the partitions?

It wouldn't recoginize the file systems but would see the partitions - and having those partitions wouldn't change the model number. The drive model reported by Crystal Disk Info doesn't match what should have come with the drive (as you can see "500" right in the first part of the string).

It's a fake.
