my 3 year old hit the power button while my laptop was updating. now when i power it on it has a box that says windows was shut down during an update..... can i fix this in the bios menu? or with a restoration point?

Can't you just restart your laptop?

i tried that. every time it powers on that box pops up and all mouse and keyboard functions cease

frustrating. especially since i fixed a laptop and a desktop last month that had serious issues

You can get Windows files on a USB or disc and then insert it into the laptop. From there, you can either refresh Windows which should solve the problem or you could completely reformat it (losing everything on your laptop) if you want.
