The forum wasn’t letting me add more details so I’ll try to be more specific here

So for a while now without even really noticing my 4090 has consistently been underperforming in games where it should easily excel. I was told by a friend i might be able to find some answers here

I’m going to try to be as detailed as possible but I’m really not sure what’s wrong but I’m going to start off with my specs

-AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

-MSI Pro B650-P WiFi ATX AM5

-MSI RTX 4090 GAMING SLIM 24G GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB Video Card

-Corsair RM1000x 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

-G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Memory

-Western Digital Black SN770 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive

-Scythe Fuma 3 67.62 CFM CPU Cooler

-Dell 32 4K UHD Gaming Monitor - G3223Q

Now with that out of the way I don’t play too high demand games. With thoses specs it should be able to handle max graphics pretty fine? Now to the issue it only runs it at 25-30 fps on max.

Now let’s go over the things I’ve tried

1. Updated bios

2. Checked if memory is seated correctly/correct slots

3. Updated chipset and gpu drivers

4. Changed power settings to high performance

5. Maximized fan speeds

6. Turned on expo profile in bios

7. Made sure power cables were plugged in properly

8. Reinstalled windows

9. Full Reset of pc

10. Reinstalled/verfiy game files

11. Disabled vsync

12. Used DDU to remove all drivers and reinstall them

Other things to note:

My cpu and gpu stay in the mid 70s while gaming temperature wise which I read is optimal for under load and my memory reaches 60% utilization gpu can reach 70s -100% utilization and cpu is 30-40%

also during gameplay measured using afterburner it show 1050 mv and its clock speeds were at 2520 and memory at 10501 MHz

I also used furmark to test my gpu and it reached 100% utilization for power and load with frames consistently at 180s temperature again stayed in the 70s gpu fans were in the 69-71% usage?

I also had another gpu in my rig before i switched to a 4090 it was a 7900xtx but im pretty sure uninstalling the amd drivers would not make it affect it?

While im almost certain it isn’t a hardware limitation i am more than welcome to be wrong

Thanks for the detailed info...

Can you download and run userbenchmark (https://www.userbenchmark.com/), and post the result link here so we can click it and see what it shows.

Also you said 25~30 FPS at max settings, Thats at 1080p/1440p/2160p?, and What games?

And yes I read that your display is 4K, but I wana be sure about the relationship between FPS and resolution and your current hardware.

i just selected everything for the test so i hope i did that right and as for the games i play mainly fort nite with occasionally other games such as for honor and a few others. i run fort nite at 4k with every setting set to max and frames at unlimited. For honor is the same but im not exactly sure of its performance i just know it was under performing as well. (i think the original reason i couldnt post all the details is because the word fort nite counts as spam)
