i gotta say i have msi myself. a 970a-g46 that overvolts my cpu to its max supported safe vcore +dif in affect never turning on the turbo at its stock speed. im guessing the bios is mostly setup for a gui style oc and the msi programs work like crap and worse on windows 8 so i use none of them at all. i know now a bios oc is the only way to go and also that the fx chip performs best on a 990chipset.

for +75 your games would fair much better even on auto settings with no oc but with that said it even oc's better. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131851 this is the mobo i wish i got if it helps u out

CD/DVD drive is unnecessary these days..you can install windows from a USB with ease. This has an 8320 + a r9 270x, this will game much better. Has a SSD for the boot drive if you want that option.

better motherboard + overclockable option

Solution
lookn good but most mobo's are configured out of box for windows 8 so they are no longer optimized to run windows 7 even older boards have been updated in this way but possibly require a bios update for optimal performance. no big deal tho because amd would have released 8 sooner if it was up to them.
better memory management, better multicore suport and a updated agesa code allows for smooth c6 as well as c&q functionality
i personally use them for a hyper212 oc on a fx6350 at 4.6ghz and workn fine with no down throttle in heavy load with icey idle temps for longevity

I hate windows 8. never tried 8.1, is there any way to change how the OS does a search (far right corners, magnifying glass/search) because its totally botched. looks cheap and ugly, if M$ was not so lazy they would have left that on the tablets, fablet, and surface, and combos laptop/tablets.... and all that mess they had going.

I would like to see those things you mentioned about better OS utilization of cores, and RAM, and better consumption states etc, all thats great. Just fix the user interface and other major user tools...things a bi**h to navigate (i have to help my parents every 5 seconds now lol, they got used to XP/vista/7 style) without the proper keyboard shortcuts (a lot of people are still typing one finger though lol).

maybe give us some nice tools and features back

yeah when i had 8 the search side bar would pull out with all crapy lookn animation but 8.1 its fine and u can boot to desktop instead of start screen. i personally have a few icons on my desktop and when i want something i go start screen and the down arrow to list of all aps and has a search bar at the top right.
so your user experience can be very customizable giving u the option of desktop, start screen or ap screen for your most used aps and programs

i had to install a 3rd party shell to get it to act like windows 7 for my parents, it adds the start bar and most of the functionality of it, and is the most useful thing on the OS still lol, and its 3rd party. Ill admit im reluctant to change, but the overall look feels very cheap to me, and i dont think im alone.

you know the old joke about M$ though, they release a crap OS in between each good one.
98 was good, 2000 sucked, XP was GODMODE, Vista sucked, 7 was great, 8 _____. 😛
