My Acer Aspire laptop is unresponsive

My Acer Aspire laptop went completley black while I was using it, it was still running but unresponsive so I hard restarted it, but now when i try to turn it on the lightbulb indicator light flashes blue five times and will not turn on. Please help me.

Please do a hard reset first, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Plug just the AC adapter and boot up the laptop and see if turns on normally.Plug the battery in once the laptop boot normally. If doesn't boot normally and there are still light on the laptop try to hook up an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it if you do there might be an issue with the built in display of the cable connecting the LCD to the motherboard. Lastly, try to reseat the RAM remove them all and make sure that they are all seated properly into each slots.

You can try the power cycle that Laptop_Nerd mentioned, but it sounds to me like you have hardware failure on your hands. Acer should have a manual for your laptop model that will outline what the flashing light means; the amount of flashes is usually code to relay what the issue is.
