My aftermarket heatsink facing gpu

The fan that I have is facing down towards the GPU. The metal part is facing up.
Is that good?

If the airflow through the cooler is down, then no, that is not a good scenario.
Blow up or back through the cooler fins.

The black fan is facing my GPU, and the heatsink is point north and south.
This is a better picture of my example.

I also have this case:

So I thought the position of the fan will blow air out through the top and rear in that current position like in picture.

Yes, probably it is blowing up through the cooler fins. If so, all is well.
