This problem never happened before. My modem would just randomly reboot which is really annoying coz it'll take the internet down too. What I notice is that everytime the US light is solid green(which I read that if it's a solid green, the connection rans at ultra high speed) the chances of it rebooting is 100%, while if it's a solid orange, it will not reboot. I am not 100% sure what I noticed is right but there is a high chance that I am right. Anyone can explain this to me? Is my modem malfunctioning now? TIA

Yes it could be broken but I would try to confirm that it is not just overheating. Even though the room is cool, the electronics inside can get hot/too hot if the air flow is not sufficient.

Try using a small fan to keep air flowing through the modem. Or place the modem where there is more (preferably cooler) air flow. May or may not work if previous overheating has caused some problem like cracking that just being cooled or cooler will not resolve.

However, if your modem is being provided by your ISP then just see if they will replace it. You may need to jump through some hopes beforehand but once proven that the modem is the problem then they should provide a replacement.
TIA ?

Does the reboot happen during times when you are uploading lots of data? Could be the modem be overheating perhaps? Especially when working at higher speeds (solid green) versus lower speeds (orange/yellow).

However the light meanings could be reversed per page 43 of the user manual - Note 1.

You should watch the power light and link lights also. Make sure all of electrical and ethernet those connections are tight.

Also suggest that you check the ventilation/air flow around the TM822 to make sure nothing has started to block the vents or that they have built up dust inside.

If all seems okay then you may need to consider getting a replacement modem if the problem continues. Could indeed be a malfunction.

TIA means Thanks in advance

Anyways, it happened when I was playing Dota 2. After that I stopped playing for awhile and watched the modem if its going to reboot or not, and it did reboot without even doing anything. I don't think its bcoz of overheat bcoz my ac was on that time. It's probably broken or something.
