hey i bought my pc in the begging of 2018 and it is already showing big problems, the specs are Intel core i7-7700HQ 16 gigs of ram and a GTX 1050 and in theory it runs just about anything, but my pc will heat up very fast and in 15 min i crash in a game of Rainbow six or Apex. League of Legends and other lighter games work fine. My pc is still on the warranty so what should i do?

Solution

You just have to open the xtu app, play your game for 15mins and then look at the graph in the xtu with 5 mins legend.

The 7700hq has a base clock of 2.8ghz and a max boost clock of 3.8ghz.

If your cpu is thermal throttling (high cpu temp, 85 c) it will run at 800mhz

If your mobo vrm is throttling(mobo vrm too hot) it will run at a 2.8ghz base clock.

In most cases, the cpu always takes more voltage than is required to boost to 3.8ghz. So I run my 8300h cpu with a core voltage offset of - 0.15v to run the cpu a bit cooler...

What about dust accumulation? Since it's a gaming laptop, it will have...

What about dust accumulation? Since it's a gaming laptop, it will have powerful fans. And laptops don't have a dust filter. so it's better to get it cleaned at an authorized service center once in 6 months if you use it a lot.

Thats a great advice cuz my pc is a bit overkill in the games I play, i dont need the cpu so high tbh. So i'll try as you say, ill look it up on youtube. About the dust accumulation, u think the insurance will do it? Probably not xDD, but I'll try going to the local shop where i bought the PC if ur tips dont work xD. But yeah thx, rlly helped me out :)) also, nice naruto profile pic xDD
