Hello, my asus dvd writer wont recognise dvds but it recognise cd what is problem causes on that?

If it's a model that should recognize DVDs and it doesn't, then it's probably defective. Does it fail reading/detecting all DVDs?

All DVD Writer/Rom and legal copy DVDs have a certain REGION. You can't read DVDs that have different region as your DVD Rom/Writer.

However, you can change the region of your DVD Rom/Writer for a total of 4~5 times.

Yes it fails to detect all dvds
