Last week I can still use this laptop while charging or even if the charger is plugged in. After a month, it got drained and after an overnight charging, when I open it the next day, plugged the charger in, it won't start. But if I remove the charger, it would turn on. One thing also I noticed is that, If I plug in the charger, the charger indicator will move up and down for only 10 seconds and then stop...and then after 1 or 2 more minutes, the power will shut down or hibernate i guess.. Can you help me guys..do I need to take this to a technician? Or is there an alternative trouble shooting that I can start with.
Thank you!!!

Well, it should not power off when connected to the charger, which means that there is an intermittent fault either on the charger or the Laptop's power circuit. You won't know which unless you either buy another charger or perhaps borrow one from someone with a similar laptop. Sometimes an old battery can cause problems, but the fact that the laptop fails with only the charger connected would rule that out of the equation for now...

Sounds like the charger is faulty. If you can borrow a multimeter, check the voltage on the jack plug. (Red lead to centre and black to outer sleeve). Should be around 19Volts. Otherwise buy a new one on Ebay, they're not expensive. (Buy one without a mains lead/plug, you'll be able to re-use your old one)
Another possibility is the charging circuit on your Laptop's Motherboard has failed, and that generally means a new board. (expensive!)

Thank you dodger46 for the idea. Just this afternoon, I removed the battery and try to plug in the charger only..it worked for an hour..then i shut it down and went out..when i came back i tried to switch the laptop on still without the battery, just to see what will happen..it will power up for just 5 seconds and then shut down. tried it five times..still the same..right now i put back the battery and recharge it..do you think you have an idea what should i do first? i don't want to go straight to a technician without understanding everything..hope to hear from u more..
