My Asus laptop suddenly went off after few seconds of inserting a pen drive

My Asus laptop version X51RL suddenly turned off after few seconds of inserting a pen drive and it's no longer turning on

Have you looked at the usb port you put the pen drive in? 1 of the 4 pin could be touching the ports metal surround so use something to bend it out if the wsy

If not have you tried removing the battery and charger and holding down the power button for 30seconds?
