My Asus Monitor says no vga signal even though its on the vga source

Assume you connected the VGA cable into the GTX 1050 and not the MB VGA connector. You'll likely need to use the DVI --> VGA dongle that likely came with your video card. So you end up plugging the dongle into the video card, then the VGA cable into the dongle.

okay, well I have a dvi cable and I will try to do that, but I can't boot now. I'll check that list

Do you plan to run windows on this PC or Linux or something else ?
Asking for "boot media" usually means that the PC does not see an installed, bootable operating system.

If you plan to run WIN10 then you need to either buy win10 on a USB stick or download windows10 using the "win10 media creation tool". If you plan to run Linux let us know, how you install it depends.

Windows retail comes on a USB, not CD. You can also download windows using the "media creation tool" and cread your own CD or DVD. Using USB means your PC does not need an optical drive.

You qualify for an OEM copy of windows if you want it. it is cheaper by a little bit. $99.99 vs 120 for retail download.

Also if you are at school, most schools have a steeply discounted price for windows.

Yes you will want a disk drive. A good 3TB or 4TB spinning is $100. A good 500GB SSD is $130-$150. If you game you need at least 500GB to hold your downloaded games.
