my asus pci-ac68 wireless adapter wont connect

I have recently built a new gaming rig, i used a asus rampage black edition motherboard and it came with an asus pce-ac56 onboard network adapter. using this adapter usually results in total connection loss for about 2-3 seconds. so, i got out my old trusty asus pce-ac68 that i used on my old computer and all of a sudden it does not want to work at all.

after installing the ac68 into pci slot and installing the asus utility/driver software it still wont work. I have tried to just take the driver out and not install the software, because i think thats how i got it to work on my old computer but that wont work now. when i enable the ac86 and disable the ac56 it cant detect any networks and the utility the ac68 comes with wont actually open either saying " connect the network adapter before opening the utility"

any ideas? this card used to work great but now it does not want to.

computer specifications:
windows 7 64 bit
Asus Rampage Black Edition motherboard ( onboard pce-ac56 adapter)
Asus pce-ac68 wireless adapter
cooler master 1200w platinum psu
16bg trident X series ram ( g. skill)
intel 4770k processor

i can provide any other detail you need upon request, i hope someone can help having drops in connectivity can be an eternity in some online games.

I hope you've managed to fix your problem.

I had a similar problem with mine.

I had spent over an hour with asus support and had them stumped.

They had me go into services.msc and look for wwan auto config.

I then changed it to startup type to automatic and then clicked on the log on tab.

for some reason I had it on this account and not Local system account, changed it to this.

Went back into general tab and started the service.

You may get an error message re address being used by another service.
Just click ok.

Rebooted my pc and this was all ok

Still unable to enable the adapter or run the asus software.

After looking at these I still couldn't get mine working.

Uninstalled my antivirus software and then restalled the asus software again not successful.

It still didn't accept that I had installed the card and I couldn't enable it in network settings.

My last resort was to go into network and sharing centre, change adapter settings, right click the adapter and go to properties.

In the networking tab I just uninstalled the items in the list and the pressed ok.

After this my asus became enabled but not connected.

So I removed the asus software and drivers, then reinstalled them.

Once it had finished installing it was connected and working brilliantly.

Now I'm getting a data rate of over 700mbps and sometimes even more

I help this is of use to you and others as I have noticed that there seems to be a few problems with not many solutions.
