My Asus Windows 8 computer won't detect my tv when plugged in via HDMI. Help!

I've tried every input, every screen resolution thing. I don't know what else to do. Anyone that can help? Thanks in advance.

Some TVS have a dedicated HDMI port for PC input. If yours has this, make sure it's plugged in there. Also check if your TV has a PC Mode that you need to choose to pick up the signal.

I tried that. My tv has an HDMI, VGA and DVI port. I want to use the HDMI one though because that's the cord I have.
