my asus z87 rog maximus vi hero is only detecting one of my graphics cards the 2nd pci-e lane is not working . I just ordered another asus z87 rog maximus vi hero will I have to reinstall windows ? also the asus z87 rog maximus vi hero I am getting is a open box from newegg.com . I know all the accessories will not be included but is there a chance they will send me a defected motherboard that dose not work ? and does newegg.com check them be for sending them out ?

I would have to say yes, Windows verify's your key code by matching it to the serial number of your motherboard. It is best to update the key to the new motherboard. I have actually had to call Microsoft on several occasions to do this.

I will reinstall windows any way to be safe. the motherboard newegg is sending me is a open box not a replacement
my current motherboard is past the 30 day return policy . is there a chance that they will send me a motherboard that dose not work ? and do they check the open box motherboards before the send them out ?

One of the reasons I would NEVER buy a mobo from Newegg!! And yes if they are sending you an open box one there is a much higher chance you could get one that's defective, or even worse one with bent pins and possibly blame you for doing so (read some of their motherboard reviews). Just to be safe If I were you I would film your unboxing and carefully check the pins first thing. Also I would raise hell if they tried to send an open box as a defective replacement. Why the h$ll should you be punished because they sold you a defective motherboard to begin with!!!!!!!! Amazon and many other retailers would never practice this type of customer service, or in your case customer disservice
