Question My audio and mic are not working even with a splitter PLEASE HELP

I'm using a headphone with only 1 3.5mm jack port so i can't use a mic on my PC. So i decided to buy a splitter so i could use the mic but when i connect it to my PC the mic still doesn't work and my audio is acting weird. My headphones used to play audio in stereo and now they are mono when using the splitter. And when i use my browsers voice search it says %1$s voice search not available. Can someone please help me?

That is the correct type of adapter, but could simply be a bad one that you got, return it and try another one, maybe a different brand.

I did but now i'm using 1 earphone as a mic and my headphones for the sound.
