Question My audio keeps disconnecting at random times

Hi all,

My audio keeps disconnecting for about a second at random times and then it automatically reconnects. It doesn't matter if I'm using speakers or a headset. Windows and all of my drivers are up to date. Some people are telling me it's a motherboard issue.

I have a Z170A MSI M7 motherboard and have had it for about three years now.

Could be just an "old" audio port.

Try to secure the applicable plug to the audio port as solidly and as firmly as possible.

Try using an audio extension cord between the speakers and headsets. Just to change the fit and feel of the audio plug connecting to the host computer.

If it is indeed a worn out motherboard port then install an audio card if there is a slot available.
