My audio seems to have dampened?

I use 3.5mm cables, and they cut out in one ear until I wiggle them. For some reason, the audio seemed to die down in both ears, even at 100 volume in-game and on taskbar. The audio used to be loud, but now it isn't? It just happened a few minutes ago, and it's very annoying when trying to play CS:GO. Any ideas?

If wiggling the cable fixes it, chances are either the cable or the port it's plugged into is damaged. Does the plug itself wobble around at all? Even 1mm wiggle room can indicate damage to the port or plug.
