My AUX suddenly stopped working

I have a 2008 VW Jetta and at first the AUX input worked fine and I was able to play music off my phone. But recently my battery died and after changing it, when ever i plug the AUX chord in, it doesn't work. I have searched evrywhere abd tried everything. All solutions I have seen so far is to replace my stereo. Which I think is outrageous. Please help.

Know any VW modders/enthusiasts? See if they can re-enable it with the VAG software.
