Question My B85M-G R2.0 Motherboard is dead after overclocking

i5 4590
Hi, i put 1.9 volts in bios for cache, core, and (something else)
After 2 seconds my motherboard freeze and turned off, now it is turning on but no post (black screen)
I already do CMOS reset, replace ram.
when im starting motherboard without cpu, it is not turning on
when i connecting cpu, motherboard turns on but black screen

I dont hear any Sound from pc speaker

cpu is warm

do i have to get POST card for that?

Please tell me, what do i have to replace? motherboard or cpu?

1.9V? Out of curiosity, had you done any research on this at all? What made you want to attempt to apply 1.9V?
There's no real "overclocking" available on a 4590, especially on a B85 board, so this was just a bad idea all round.

Regardless, there should be failsafes on the board to avoid actually accepting 1.9V, and certainly not delivering it to the CPU.


Please post your full system specs.

How are you attempting a CMOS reset? Have you removed the CMOS battery, drained residual power and waited 10 minutes before reassembly?

then i entered BIOS and while im entering there, computer just shut down
and now it just not booting

!!!!!I already do CMOS reset.!!!!!
when im starting motherboard without cpu, it is not turning on
when i putting cpu in socket, motherboard turns on but black screen

I dont hear any Sound from pc speaker

Motherboard or CPU is most likely toast , possibly both.
4590 is a locked CPU , not sure what you were attempting on a B85 chipset?
