My bios is not resetting. Need help!

Hey guys,

My Bios seems <mod edit>. Need help pliz.

I am trying to reset it but it KEEPS going back to its initial settings.

The initial setting is an OC to 4.3GHZ which I never did. The default is suppose to be 3.3Ghz with turbo boost up to 3.7Ghz.

These are my parts.

Mobo:ASUS P8Z68 V GEN 3
Cpu : I5 2500K
SSD : Samsung 850 PRO 250GB
ASUS 970 Strix
Windows 7 Pro

So i just reformatted my pc and i wanted my Overclock settings to back to default.

First I tried to load the optimized default settings through bios. Motherboard starts up twice and still keeps the old settings.

Second, I tried taking out the CMOS battery for 30mins. It resets but it goes to the American Megatrends screen with my only option to click F1 to restore old settings ( WTFFFFFFFF)

Third, I tried resetting the mobo by the jumper method. Goes to the same American Megatrend screen and gives me the F1 option to restore old settings WTF.

HOW THE <mod edit> DOES IT EVEN STORE OLD SETTINGS AFTER A HARD RESET??????

I have updated my mobo to the latest bios (3603) directly from ASUS.

ALSO I installed the AI SUITE and in the Auto tuning section it says http://i.imgur.com/FWVgYhY.png

I have no idea what to do next.

Just to be clear. You hit f5 while in the bios, Then exited and clicked save changes, and nothing happened?

When you installed the new bios did you first reset the old bios to default? Also did you have auto tuning installed at the time you tried to reset it?

I hit f5, loaded optimised defaults and then hit save changes and reset.
Then the motherboard restarts twice
and then it loads into the windows with the same old bios settings.

I installed the old bios sometime back so I cant remember if it was on default. Should I revert to an older bios again to see if that works?

I only install the auto tuning after I failed resetting it multiple times. The OS default on the Auto tuning thing again reverts back to the 4.3GHZ OC which is absurd.

That may be a good idea, but first remove auto tuning.
