My Brand New DELL Inspiron 14 Is totally Slow

I just bought my new laptop. it takes a really long time for it to be smooth and fast. I haven't installed much but it's just too slow. I mean, it takes about 10 seconds to right click and click refresh and another 5 seconds to do the thing. And takes probably 5 minutes to open chrome. Please help me find a solution to this. Thx btw.

You have abrand new laptop running windows 8?

Aside from that, it may just be downloading massive amounts of updates and installing them.
I would give it a day to get that done and if it's still mis-behaving afterwards, me being of little patience with brand new stuff not working right, would send it right back and let them deal with it.
