My brand new Fujitsu laptop says it's downloading windows updates but it's been on 0% for an hour...

Advice needed - I have switched on my Fujitsu life book a series for the first time. It says it is downloading Windows updates and the loading bar is moving but the download % has been on 0 for over an hour. Is anything happening?
