Hi there guys i am wanting to build my self a decent pc for gaming. I have already got a mid tower case for $40, Segotep 3402. I want to add the rest of the parts in. Any suggestions. My budget is 700 NZD. I had something like this in mind http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/VW68TH.

I agree that it would perform alright with it overclocked, but most people with theirs are going for 4.5GHz. I guess if you really can't stretch for an i3 and your happy with doing that, it would be alright.
1000 will get you something respectable. dont change the power supply.

700NZD is fiinnneee...

Intel pentium G3258
Zotac GTX750Ti
MSI H81M-E33
Corsair DDR3 Value 8GB (8x1) RAM
HardDisk Western Digital 160GB SATA2
PSU Antec NeoEco II 450W

It really depends on what game you're playing. On the latest games, with settings set to low, a properly overclocked G3258 would do just fine.
And in CSGO, for example, it would do a good 50fps or so in low settings
