[SOLVED] My build, an upgrade to a 3700x worth it

Any thoughts appreciated on my burning question if an upgrade to a 3700x is worth the money on my system...at present

Asus rog x470f MoBo
Ryzen 2700x OC to stock 4.1 GHZ stable + preformance boost lvl2 in Bios, FPS better than in lvl 3 or 4
Coolmaster AIO 120mm WC but with Corsair 2500 rpm fans front and back
Ram Corsair Vengence 3000 Mhz C15 32gb Stable (xmp)
Asus Rog RTX 2080 OC 8gb
Samsung Evo 500gb
Seagate Barracuda 1tb
beQuiet 11 700w Gold
Temps at presentCPU under gaming max 68c & idle 35c, GPU 64c (Mordor Shadows of War-Ultra but COD WII Ultra-5c lower) & idle 34c, temps from Core Temp v1.14
Any help gladly recieved or any other suggestions to improve on a 300-500€ budget...

If you are seeing decent performance now, i wouldnt reccomend an upgrade.

If you feel your CPU is holding you back and you want a higher framerate, the 3700x may be a good upgrade due to increased 1t performance.

I honestly don't think you would notice much if any performance increase in current games with a 3700x vs your current 2700x.

I upgraded from a Ryzen 2700x to the 3700x a couple of weeks ago.
I kept my RTX 2070 so it was just the CPU that I changed.

Only CPU bound games like Witcher 3 and GTA V are where I noticed an improvement.
Witcher 3, running at 1440p, used to suffer from stutters on my 2700x as did GTA V sometimes, running at 4K.
Both of them are now a lot smoother with no slowdown whereas other games I play are generally GPU bound so I don't notice any improvement.

The 3700x is a substantial upgrade from the 2700x but at 1440p and 4K the maximum frame rates on an RTX 2070/2080 won't really improve - it is just the games where you get stutters or dips in frame rates that will be smoothed out and improved due to the extra CPU power.

As you have a 2080, it might depend on your current res and refresh rate, with 1080P and/or 144 Hz monitors getting a 25% frame rate boost, with 1440P gaming getting much less of CPU benefit (8%), and in 4K , very little if any gained...

If using a 1080P or 1440P monitor at only 60Hz refresh, you are already well beyond what you need and what you can use in framerates.
