Hello all. I have been a reader for a while but just signed up today. I am looking to build a mid level gaming system. Based on the great feedback from other threads I have created the list below with newegg. Please let me know if I missed anything or if I am missing an easy upgrade. I already have a monitor/keyboard etc. This is about what I want to spend but I do not want to miss any "low hanging fruit". That said I know you can upgrade forever and I don't want to spend alot more unless it really makes sense.

Item List:

•IASUS P6T Deluxe V2 ATX Intel Motherboard
•Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor
•EVGA GeForce GTX 275 896-P3-1171-AR Video Card - Superclocked Edition
•OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory
•XIGMATEK Dark Knight-S1283V 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler
•Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive(os)
•Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive(data)
•Antec Nine Hundred Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window
•Antec TPQ-850 850W Continuous Power Power Supply
•LITE-ON 22X DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model iHAS222-06

Grand Total: $1,481.76

I keep the computer in the living room next to the couch so I trying to stay with a mid tower. It fits under the end table at 17-18 inches in height. So far the wife has not complained and I am trying to keep it that way. Thanks for your feedback.

Maybe a case without 2 bright blue LED lights up front? Would a "quiet case" win you any points?
Did you choose the Antec TPQ-850 for it's modular cables or for a future dual or 3-way GPU setup? It's more than you need for 2x GTX 275s.

Thanks for the feedback,

It there a quiet case you reccomend? The 17-18 inch height has been a limiting factor but the case does not have to go under the end table.

I may add a second card later but may not - do you reccomend a different power supply. I prefer to shop brick and mortar but here in Charlotte NC I cant find anywhere to shop since compusa went out of business. I have been going mostly by feedback and other board members reccomendations.

Check out the Cooler master 690, alot of people would recomend that one for performance and airflow.

If you don't care about noise of fans then check out the Antec 902 it has better wire management and black interior.

xthekidx is thinking along the same lines I am.

But getting a little more creative:
CORSAIR 650TX PSU -(to balance out the higher cost of the case)
DFI LANPARTY JR X58-T3H6 X58 Micro ATX Motherboard
Antec Mini P180 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case 17"
To get the GTX 275 to fit in the smaller case you'd need to remove the lower HDD cage from the case.

When it comes time to shop around you can list what's available to you locally and and have the forum members rank and comment on what you have available to you.
Sometimes just getting the case and PSU locally can really help cut down on shipping charges.
Also remember to factor in any local tax vs the no-tax option you get with some online shopping choices.

If you consider the free shipping on this card down below along with the rebate included with it I would get it instead of that 275.
