My Build vs. The New Mac Pro

I've been working on a build for a while, and I was wondering if I would be better off with the new mac pro. Doing video editing, gaming, color grading, etc.

As overpriced as Macs are you will definitely get way better performance for your money building a PC.

Well, i doubt apple is going to make a better computer. That's like the end of the highest end computers. So not much to say there.

But the only reason people go with mac's is because they have like no viruses or hardware/software failures. But windows has better gaming performance, and is compatible with all games unlike mac or linux.

So i would say your computer could out perform any mac pro.

This used to be somewhat true, no computer is safe from viruses and the like. Macs have been increasingly exploited and hacked into. The most secure OS is Linux based OS's but being realistic just stick with windows and be smart and use Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware

Yup, nothing protecting macs from malware other than market share, and even then people are starting to write more for them, likely on the basis of gullibility and deeper pockets.

Hardware failures are still common with macs too.

If you want to use your computer for GPU compute work (stuff using CUDA), you'll want a Titan. If not, get a 290X with a decent cooler.

The 780ti is faster than the Titan yes.

In gaming. If you're doing work on it, it's somewhat less likely.

And if you're gaming you might as well go for the 4670K.
