My call of Duty World at War wont install

So I use on windows 8. It worked before but then I uninstalled it because I had so Manu unwanted files. It would not install so I restored my desktop to factory settings. It still wont work it says this after like 10 minutes "Data error (cyclic redundancy check.)" I press ok then this pops up "Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation. Consult windows Installer help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information." I press ok and it closes.
Can someone please help me find the solution!!

It sounds like the installer is corrupt - Cyclic Redundancy Check is a way of ensuring that data is unmodified.

I think you may have to re-download it.

I just re-read your post, and I may have misinterpreted it...

Is it saying that there's a CRC error while you restore the laptop, or while you try to install the game?

It wont install my disk. That's the problem

My disk is shiny clean and scratch free. It either sits in my desktop or in the case

then your dvd drive isnt reading it properly for some reason

if you only have one dvd drive

buy a new one they are dirt cheap

or take it to a friends pc --see if theirs can read it--if it can copy it to a flash/usb drive

It looks like it that. I tried playing a home video that I have and it dint work
