My cat may have messed up my video card...

So earlier today I was gaming when my cat jumped from behind my PC. On his way his foot caught the HDMI cable from my video card, which in turn disconnected it. The little bastard pulled it so hard that as the HDMI cable came out, it pulled the metal covering off the HDMI pins. So, I grabbed a new HDMI cable and now....nothing. Blank screen. Everything works fine if I put the HDMI into my motherboard's back panel, and screen shows image. But, it does not work with my video card. The video card itself is running; fans are turning and the power lights from the card are lighting up....just no image is coming up on my TV now. I checked the back of the video card and it seems intact, I don't see any pins or anything stuck in the video card's HDMI output.

So, I'm not really sure what happened, other than maybe just some of the internals are outta whack since the HDMI cable was yanked out. Anyway, my video card is an ASUS Radeon R9 290X. Any feedback would be golden!

power off and reseat the gpu. the cat may have yanked the card so it not sitting right. with onboard video boot into safe mode an remove amd drivers and reboot. in the bios turn on muilt monitor support and see if the primany display set to auto or peg/pci. if it auto leave it be for now. reinstall drivers see if the card hdmi port will come on. (cat may have bent two pins together and shorted the gpu). if the hdmi port wont turn on after the driver is on using amd software. (see if it under warranty and rma it as failure). dont say cat killed it.

Oh my bad, I forgot to mention that I did try reseating it onto the MB, no dice :/ However, thanks Smorizio for the suggestion about removing drivers and rebooting/reinstalling drivers. I'll need to check the warranty though, I bought the card 2 years ago and pretty sure warranty expired. But will try your suggestions right now!

Thanks for the input! After trying all this I sent to ASUS, by warranty was still good. They just notified me today and they are replacing the card, should be getting it next week 😀
