Hi, My CD ROM drive refuses to show up in, "MY COMPUTER", until I put a
CD in it....then the AutoRun automatically forces the CD to show up in
My Computer. Anyone can 'splain please? It's no big deal...just want
to know what's causing it. I;m the kind of guy who took things apart
when I was a kid to see what made them work. Curious!

Thanks, Mike

There's nothing there until you put a disk in anyway. Why would you want
the hastle of the error message when you try to display the contents of
the empty drive?

You should be able to overide Autorun by holding down the keyboard's
left shift key until the optical drive's activity light goes out.

IF the application's publisher was considerate, inserting the CD would
run code that would detect if the application was installed and install
or run the application as appropriate.

As long as it's not "Sneezy", you should be OK.
