I've been having this problem for a couple days now, and my Alienware Area-51 750i is turning on but doesn't show any display. I have not encountered any problems like this, but my computer does overheat which then crashes.

1. I've used ram on each slot 1 by 1.
2. I cleaned the computer out.
3. i Attempted to clear C-mos, but nothing happened.
4. I switched monitors, used different cords for the pc and monitors.
5. I changed the graphics cards and started up without one... for some reason.
6. I made sure the power supply is working.
7. i started up with just the CPU,1 stick of ram,and gpu.
8. Also my Computer's Power button stopped working when this incident occured.
9.I hold the (power button that doesn't work but lights up) for 30 sec.
10.I did seem to smell some smoke during some processes

Might i have the replace the motherboard? Which i have a Asus P5N-D mb.

Thank you for your responses, if any :)

Solution
Yeah I think you have answered your own question mate, :)
The motherboard must of decided to call it quits. Just preform an out of case boot, just connect your gpu, cpu, psu and ram onto the Asus motherboard which should be rested on a non conductive surface, (the motherboard box is always good). Start her up connected to your monitor and see if it works :)
If so assemble it into your case again.
