Hello community! I have read lots of posts here but never asked on myself but time has come. I just built my computer month ago. Parts are i5 6600k, msi gtx 1070, msi z170a gaming pro carbon, ripjaws 4gb×2 , evga supernova 650wat, cooler masyer 212 evo, samsung ssd, western digital 1tb. I mean this is like brand new computer but the problem is, it sometimes freezes for 1~2 seconds and just come back normal after that. Some day, this happens 2~3 times, some days it doesnt happen at all. It happens inside and outside of game. I jusy wishes that its not a hardware problem. Maybe a software problem? Any solutions? or way to check the problem?? Video cards seems alright cause I play all games in best quality. It also happens outside of game. Please help me I am worried

Solution
Not easy to tell, but it could be the hard drive: in order to save energy, Windows puts the hard drives to sleep if they haven't been used for some time. Whenever you want to access the hard drive again, Windows needs to wake it up, which takes a second or two. I assume your windows installation is on the SSD (at least it should). So this issue would be happing to you whenever some process needs to access data on the hard drive after it's been put into sleep mode.

In order to check whether this is indeed what's happening, you can do this: hit the Windows key, type "control" and hit enter. This should have opened the Control Panel (i'm assuming you use windows 10, but it's the same for windows 7/8/8.1). Click on "System and security"...

This should have opened the Control Panel (i'm assuming you use windows 10, but it's the same for windows 7/8/8.1). Click on "System and security", and then on "Energy options" (i'm translating this from a different language than English, wording on your computer might be slightly different). Now you should see a window which mentions energy plans for your computer, showing one of them as selected, and a "Change the plan's configuration" link to its right. Click that link, and then on a new link called "Change advanced energy settings". A new small window will open, and the first item in the tree should be "Hard Drive". You should see an open field to type the minutes before Windows puts the HDD to sleep: type 0, and click "Accept". Now your hard drives won't ever be turned off by Windows.

Try this for a few days (or until you get the problem again). If the problem disappeared, that's it. If not, if it still happens, then something else is at fault, please come back then and we'll try something else...

Good luck!
