This was originally posted in Systems because I wasnt sure what the issue had to do with but I believe it would be better suited for here.

I recently purchased a new GPU for my PC that I built, and have been playing various games on it lately. I havent noticed any issues at all 90% of the time, but the other 10% is a major issue. While playing Guild Wars 2 my computer will suddenly freeze. When it does, I can no longer hear game sound, discord, my music, move my mouse, or use my keyboard (I've tried Ctrl+Alt+Del, Alt+F4, and Ctrl+Shift+Esc, none work.) Now when I say this happens only on Guild Wars 2, I mean it primarily happens on GW2. Nine times out of ten it happens on a loading screen, however I have had it happen once while playing, and a few times when I try to tab back into the game after tabbing out to message someone or change my music. I have only had it happen on one other game one time on Playeruknown's Battlegrounds, and once or twice on my desktop, after rebooting from a crash on GW2. Cannot recall if I had tried to launch anything on those freezes unfortunately. No other game has done this to me so far. I can play countless PUBG rounds with no issues on max settings, and various other games as well.

I've tried various fixes found online or that I could think of, such as running GW2 -repair, reinstalling GW2, updating all of my drivers, deleting old drivers, reinstalling my nvidia drivers, moving my GPU to another PCI port, and other things I don't recall off the top of my head.

I have run memtest86+ and it found no errors after leaving it running overnight and while at work for a total of 6 or so passes. I have also run chkdsk /r on my C: drive turning up no results. As I said I have also updated as many drivers and deleted any old drivers that I possibly could. I feel like I am missing something, but I am at a loss for ideas at this point. Replacing parts is feasible come payday, however I would rather not have to if possible. I can afford to, but I would be giving up partially on furnishing my new apartment. EDIT: I have also run Prime95 to stress test the CPU, with no issues. I have yet to stress test the GPU because it is brand new, however I will do so here shortly. I have a small suspicion it could be due to overheating of my cpu, but Guild Wars is the only thing that I seem to have the issue with. It could be that GW2 is overheating my CPU however it only ever gets to a maximum of about 55-60°C under large load. GPU and other parts dont go much further than about 40-45°C.

However I will do whatever it takes to fix my computer. Here are my specs and let me know if I am missing anything that could help solve this issue. Thanks! ^^

PC SPECS:
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770k CPU @ 3.50 Ghz
GPU: MSI Armor GEFORCE® GTX 1060 ARMOR 6G OC (@stock)
Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme 3
RAM: Corsair 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24)
PSU: EVGA 700Bronze
HDD: 465GB Western Digital WDC WD5000AAKS-00YGA0

Running on Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

EDIT: Games I have been able to run without freezing for very long periods of time include -
-Final Fantasy XIV
-League of Legends
-Overwatch
-Rivals of Aether
-Nier: Automata
-CS:GO
-WoW (not as long as other games, but left idle for a trip to the store)
-Various Gamecube games through Dolphin
-Jotun
-Skullgirls

Update: It just crashed while loading into a game on PUBG again, at the loading screen forcing me to hard reset. However, last night I was able to run FFXIV for a few hours with absolutely no problem, not even a frame drop.

In CPU-Z it says my part number for my memory is CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9

Hopefully thats what youre asking for haha sorry if it isnt. I have 4 sticks of Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3

You are using multiple kits of (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 which is running at 1333MHz.

Corsair guarantees the rated speeds of any memory to be obtainable only in the kit it is sold in. If you are adding an additional set of memory, the rated speed and timings may not work due to the extra stress on the memory controller.

By mixing memory kits together, there may be compatibility issues such as unable to boot or unable to operate at rated specifications. It appears the latter is your case.

To get two sets of memory to work, what you may need to do is increase the dram voltages, reducing the CPU multiplier, or relax the timings. No guarantees as to compatibility when using multiple kits.

I ended up factory resetting the HDD and it has been doing just fine since then. Thanks for the reply Calvin. And I havent had any issues with my RAM thus far, but if there ends up being a problem Ill look it up for sure.
