My computer has a blue screen with a blinking cursor

I came home to find my computer screen blue with a blinking cursor. I unplugged, shut down, restated numerous times. I don't know if I have a virus because i mostly use my computer for music purposes. HELP!!!

Try removing any usb devices (excluding keyboard and mice), any media cards or cds/dvds.
Reboot.
