So i realized my computer is having static electricity...
Can it damage my computer?
If so, How can i fix that? Please respond fast, because it possibly can damage.

Solution
Yes it can, you can buy anti-static matts to prevent this or to ground the static electricity is to touch the internal metal frame of the computer's case while the computer is plugged into an electrical socket.

Even when i put it on the ground my PC is having static electricity. I mean, idk if its inside the computer, its in some part on the case, and in some nails in my computer. But yeah i think it still counts...

He means that the whole PC has builded up stactic electricity in it, had the same problem before, if I would touch the case while the PC was on, it would just shut off and after I touched it for the third time it fried my PSU and had to get a new one. I fixed it by getting a piece of cable, soldering onto the case and then put the another end of it to the ground in the plug that the PSU had.

My computer. Is having. Static electricity.
Hm thats it lol.

When i touch my computer, it dont shut off...

Your computer can't build up a static charge. A person can and they could touch a RAM module which could accept that charge possibly rendering that module useless. It can however conduct electricity.

You possibly haven't grounded everything properly. Where are you located? Is your home wiring up to code? There is a possibility that three prong plug is not able to do its job properly. Without the correct wiring, the third prong on the bottom of the plug could become useless. Without the proper grounding wire you are becoming the ground instead of the wire. A proper GFCI plug is preferred. A proper surge protector is also preferred.

^^Makes zero sense. "Static electricity" is not something that can be "had". It's just a very poor name for a phenomena involving two dissimilar insulators that come into contact and one steals some charge (usually electrons) from the other. Then you have one negatively charged entity and one positively charged entity. Then, if those charged insulators come into contact with a conductor willing to accept or give some charge, then another phenomena known as "discharge" occurs. The cause of this is the imbalance between the negative and positive particles, causing a strong electric field. Electric field strength is equivalent to voltage. So really static electricity is voltage.

Please don't take this offensively, but is this a troll post?

Dude I'm dead serious. My computer is having static electricity. But i think i have found the problem. When i touch the cable, it's having some static too. And i have alot of these 3 places that i can put cables thingy(idk the name) so i think the problem isn't the pc. Its the cables but idk. Im really worried about that. I don't wanna my computer to get destroy or something

When you touch what cable? What 3 places? What are you talking about? Seriously, from an outsider's perspective, nobody on this thread can interpret your situation.

Im uploading a video.
The black cable i zoomed on, is the computer cable, which i connect in one of these tons of power adapters thingy.
The white cable is the one that makes everything on.(the pc, the routher, everything that is electric)

Ok wait for the video to finish and i will upload

Oh and the last 3 cable thingy is the one that makes the white cable work(idefk...)
And even when my computer cable isn't plug it has a static electricity, but less.
And when i plug it in, it is doing alot static...

Sorry, but I am done here. It's crisp and clear you have a flashlight pointed toward your hand and are sticking it in front of the camera, and your responses are discombobulated and you are trying to avoid what people say with more confusing things. Is this some kind of practical joke? Or better yet, impractical joke? :pt1cable:

That glowing object was my hand. The camera flash was on. Ok i will explain the video even more.

All cables down there are for stuff, like homephone, etc.
Black cable that isn't plugged is my computer cable.
And the glowing thingy is my hand, with the camera flash.
The white cable is what makes everything that electric to work.
*showing my pc*
And the last 3 adapters thingy is what makes the big adapters under my desk(what i showed in the beggining of the video) work.

Yep. Those are definitely cables.

IT WAS TO SKIP TO THE NEXT CABLE(PART OF THE VIDEO)
