[SOLVED] My computer is in an on-off cycle

I’ve finally decided to upgrade my processor from a pentium to an i3. I took out my pentium and put in the i3 before realizing I needed to update my bios so I put my pentium back in and now my pc is in a constant on-off cycle.

Motherboard-Gigabyte B250M-DS3H

Processor- intel i3-8100

Already try resetting bios by removing battery for a minute?

From the updated information it looks like the i3-8100 is incompatible with the motherboard.

As izoli suggests, try resetting the BIOS by clearing CMOS by removing the battery for 10 minutes and see if it will boot with the old CPU afterwards.

On and Off cycle usually implies a bent pin. Check the socket for if you bent a pin when putting the CPU back in.
