Hi,

My computer is not turning ON as i see the Graphics Card which I am plugging into the motherboard is shaky as the know which holds GC tight is broken.

I had removed GC from that slot and inserted in another slot. But, it is not working at all.

I can see the Green Light in Motherboard when i turn on the system.

Please find my CPU here: http://imgur.com/aGyw3Ce and let me know if you need any additional details.

Update-1:

Here's is the MB's First Slot Pic (the holder is broken): http://imgur.com/HPBrHhu

And GC connected to PSU: http://imgur.com/e6U89Rq

Thanks in Advance

Post your complete and detailed build list.

What do you mean by the graphics card is shaky? Is it locked into the pcie slot nearest the CPU? Are the power supply connectors on the graphics card? Is the monitor plugged into the graphics card?

Has it worked OK before?

the second slot is only for duel use purpose, it will not work in the second slot without first initializing the first slot with the GC in it.

if the first slot really is un usable i would reomennd useing

an externder cable. plug in GC plug in MOBO and slide the card in a slot the fits mabey the first or last one slot in the hosing... im sure you can find a way.

My Complete and Detailed Build List.

-> M5A99FX PRO
-> AMD Sempron
->R9 280x Toxic
-> Seasonic Gold Power Supply
-> 1TB Seagate HDD
->Corsair 2x4GB RAM's

What do you mean by the graphics card is shaky? -> I meant that the holder switch is broken which will be present at the end of the SLOT, So GC is shaky when I plug it.

Is it locked into the pcie slot nearest the CPU? --> Yes, It is.

Are the power supply connectors on the graphics card? -> Yes It is connected.

Is the monitor plugged into the graphics card? -> The Monitor is not plugged in currently. But, I dont think this is an issue as the system turns ON sometimes without monitor.

First slot is not un usable. Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't. The reason is the switch which holds GC tight in its slot is broken for the first slot.

Then you really should replace the card.

Mostly cards will stay in the slot without the lock.

What do you mean by replacing the card? Do i need to insert it into any other slot?

Does it affects any performances of GC / MB? Will it be the same as we directly insert into MB?

he would hae to pay 250 $ to get another card that is even close to the R9 28x and that is still no grantee the nex card would work , you can get a NEW MOBO if you , is also a new investment! if i were you i would go to lowes tmw grab a paint stik and cut the paint stick to the proper length that you card needs to be held up. then take it and use it to hold you card up. stick it between botton of case and bottom of GC board. you pCI E slot works fine it just a stupid plstic pice that fell off, think out side the box 😉
