My computer keeps restarting itself after installing an 7850

Hi guys,

Ever since I upgraded to a Sapphire 7850 my computer has been hard restarting itself. It doesnt blue screen or give any kind of message when it happens. I tried turning off automatic restart in advanced system settings but nothing comes up still. I did try dabbling in overdrive but I have since disabled that and it still happening. My specs are:

- Core i5 750
- Gigabyte P55-UD3
- 4 Gb Ripjaw DDR3 1333 RAM
- Sapphire 7850
- 60 Gb Vertex 2 SSD
- 1 Tb WD Cavier Green
- Corsair VX550W

Any ideas? Thanks so much in advance!

Does your display go to sleep? The 7000 series apparently crashes from that. My 7850 does it too.

I was checking out some other forums related to this same issue, as I'm looking at getting a 7850 in the next couple of weeks and want to know about any troubles I might run into. Apparently the catalyst 12.6 beta fixes it. Might be worth a try.

Whelp, I just got a 7850 by XFX.. having the exact same problem with similar specs. Anyone have any ideas or should i just start my own thread :3
