My computer lost its operating system

Hey forums
I just finished building a new computer and while i was installing backups i got a blue screen for a brief moment and then it rebooted and appeared to have lost the OS. What happened and what can I do to fix it

What do you mean by lost its os?

You might have corrupted the boot record. Google things like /fix MBR . This requires booting to windows cds.

the computer crashed and and its like it lost the whole operating system i installed the night before it

"Appeared to have lost the OS" does not tell us much.

What is actual error message you get when booting?

Ok so weird thing I hit delete when i was on the msi screen to try and get to the BIOS. At theat point windows started and went to my desktop. I don't know if that's a solution.

no it goes past the msi screen displays a bunch of bullshit and then the input is started with Shell>
