My computer will randomly have what appears as if a spasm of sorts. it mainly will happen while gaming,(I don't suspect overheating because this happens while playing civ 5, a not very high demanding game) normally what happens is I get a loud humming noise through my head phones and my fans speed up to max speed and I lose connection to my monitor. I believe that its hardware and i'm ready to replace, but I want to figure out what piece it is before I start swapping parts out. any ideas?

We need the brand and model number of your power supply. Forget the case for now, it's irrelevant. Usually they include cheap psu's with these case combos and it's very possible that's what's happened here but I need the model to determine the likelihood of that. Plus that's top mounted power supply which puts it right up there where all the internal case heat is sitting at. Add to that the fact that there is no rear upper or top case fan and you have a bad combination of factors for a probably already cheap psu to handle.

I'll hold off judgement until you come back with the model but you may consider replacing the case and psu. Top mounted psu's are a thing of the past, mostly only found on older cases aside from a few throwbacks and low end budget cases. Raidmax doesn't have a great track record with their budget cases either. Let me know on the psu.
