So this computer fairly new (well was used) and was purchased from a place called C and P distributing (look them up they aren't crap and are very good). Instead of telling you how I ended up getting this computer I will tell you that I have been playing games on this computer a while (well more like since I bought it a month ago) and just today it restarted while my brother was in a game of the forest. Now I have played plenty of games on this thing and none of them have had the computer restart (list of games played: Wolfenstein the old blood, bioshock infinite, metal gear rising revengence, shadow warrior 2013). These games I play on all high settings at 720 p and couple other unmentioned at 900 p(with exception to Wolfenstein the new order) and have found nothing and up until today I had absolutely not problem with the forest whatsoever. The computer I bought had all my stuff from my old computer migrated over (as my other computer died) and it was all checked. The GPU which is a GTX 650 2 gig was inspected and in working condition, 500 gig hard drive was in working condition. All the other parts of the old computer where left in as the new computer already had what the old one did or it simply was better than what I had in my computer.
(For reference I will also include specs of my old computer)
Specs in new computer (includes two components from old computer) in detail
1.ATX 611 black case
2.350 W power supply
3.intel DG41KR motherboard
4.intel core 2 quad Q8300 2.5
5.4GB RAM DDR3
6.Sandisk 128GB X400 SSD
7.1TB HDD
8.LG 22x DVD-RW drive
9.nvidia GeForce GTX 650 2 gig (also has Intel HD graphics w/HDMI out)
10.Realtek HD audio
11.Realtek Gigabit LAN
12.4x rear USB 2.0 ports
13. 2x front USB 2.0 ports
14. Windows 10 home (would have had pro if I hadn't opted into putting my OS into this computer)
Now I'm thinking its the power supply which would be a relief to me as this computer is pretty much brand new to me (yes used but like they say one mans trash is another mans treasure).
Specs of old computer:
Nvidia GeForce gtx 650 2 gig (migrated to new PC)
AMD Athlon X2 II 240 2.80 p
4 gigs of RAM DDR3
500GB HDD (migrated to new PC)
WINDOWS 10 home (migrated to new PC)
400 watt PSU
anyone know if I can get my 400 watt PSU over into the new case? The new computer has this type of lock and key thing going on in the back which seems to be some easy open type deal for the PSU (I digress).
So what would cause my the computer to shut down like that? Would it be the Powersupply?
Update: well I asked my brother to describe it to me and he said something about a notification noise or something and he computer restarting. I couldn't u derstand him well and simply refuses to tell me it as he said it was nothing. I would much rather know and have peace of mind than go in and on asking him what he saw
