My computer restarts itself when on stand by.

Hey,

Every night I put my computer on sleep so that I can carry on where I left off with work the next day, but my computer very regularly restarts itself, shutting down everything I had open and only leaving skype and msn open, which are the only two programs that automatically open when my computer restarts.

My computer will never restart when I am using it, only when idle in sleep mode.

What is causing this?

Check your power settings make sure you have them set up correct also a lot of the times when windows does a update it will either reboot or shut your pc off.

I have also had my computer starts itself back up when in sleep mode, do you think this is the same thing?

Could very well be but also look into your bios some pc bios have a setting to wake the pc up make sure you address that as well.
