My computer screen goes black and says no signal but the computer doesnt restart

ok here is whats going on. my screen goes blank and says no signal. the computer doesnt reboot or anything like that. i have tried-

plugging the cord into the wall instead of a surge protector.changing the power settings. please help asap! im not that computer savy! if you can help me please email me at dixitinkerbell@comcast.net

Sounds like the connection on the back of your computer to your monitor is loose? Try removing the connector and reconnecting it.
