I start this thread by a sorry, because i don't know if I used the proper subject for my question, but I just made this account because I really need to fix this issue...

So I built a computer myself in May 2020, it was a fun way to avoid thinking about the quarantine and all.

Here are his specs according to the website UserBenchmark back then:

CPU: Intel Core i5-9600KF - 95.1%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660-Ti - 72.8%
HDD: Spcc Solid State Disk 256GB - 244.1%
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB (2016) - 102.4%
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 C16 4x8GB - 76.4%
MBD: Gigabyte Z390 AORUS MASTER

The problem starts about a week after I build my computer, but being too naive, I just didn't care . I figured out about a month later that it occurred more often when it was open for a long period of time (2-3hours) and restarting my pc would basically reset it and make it work correctly for another few hours.

The "when" of the problem is setted, but what exactly is it?

Basically, when I start gaming, for example League of Legends (the only game I play that shows fps without any plug-ins) I am around 144 fps (I capped it, but when it's uncapped, it doesn't change anything). After few hours, my game basically freezes for a second, and i drop from 144 fps to 1 fps, which is why I say it basically freezes. It happened at first only while playing game, but it eventually became an automatism for me to just restart my computer to fix the issue.
Today, it went longer then ever. Usually it's only a few seconds, today it was for about a minute or so, and it made me kinda panic, so here I am.

If you have any clues, or need more information, I'll be here, waiting, thank you in advance for replying!

P.S. : Ever since I upgraded to Windows 11, I hear booping noises when this lag happens (from my headset, not the desktop itself)

UPDATE : I just ran a new UserBenchmarck test, and the results are on this link (I dont know why my SSD is detected as an HDD either) :

Do you have newest bios on motherboard?

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios
have you run the gigabyte app centre? you probably don't need any of the utilities but it can also finmd updated drivers which could be cause.

Can you download and run Driverview - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

All it does is looks at drivers installed; it won't install any (this is intentional as 3rd party driver updaters often get it wrong)

When you run it, go into view tab and set it to hide all Microsoft drivers, will make list shorter.

Now its up to you, you can look through the drivers and try to find old drivers, or you can take a screenshot from (and...

upload it to an image sharing website and show link here

All I would do is look at driver versions (or dates if you lucky to have any) to see what might have newer versions.

Okay, sorry for the delay, I was sleeping , and I was trying to do what you told me !

For the screenshots of the drivers without the Windows's one, here they are :

For the GIGABYTE app center, I tried to download it, but there are no download button on the page, but I did manage to update my BIOS by myself!

I will look it up and try to enable it!

Update : I enabled XMP and even overclocked (just a tiny bit) my gpu , and after testing it (playing & studying for approx 4 hours) I still got the fps dropping ...

Do you have a Brother printer? those are old drivers if they mention Longhorn lol. Dated 2014. Might be okay but oldest drivers by far.

I don't know why/if a printer could cause it but maybe.

see if newer version of Intel Management Engine Interface, it might help. If you have newest bios, it helps if they match. Current version from November last year.
Windows may not let you as installed version is newer than latest here - https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10/support#support-dl-driver-chipset
and newest version here is even older again - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/133293/intel-z390-chipset/downloads.html

So I guess can only try gigabyte ones. It is a newer version number.

I saw the old brother printer, but i dont think it's causing it too x). I'll still try and update the drivers.

For the Intel Management Engine Interface, I just updated them.

My friend told me it might be caused by the HDD, being slow to process information and all, so i bought an SSD to replace it, I don't know if I wasted money lol,

I'll keep you updated!

Okay so, after 2 weeks of limit testing, I have my results

It appears that, by wiping all my data and reinstalling windows on a new ssd, everything is working fine.

I think the problem was here : My Windows was previously installed on an SSD and my games and all were on my old HDD, which might have caused something that made my computer slow after working a lot.

I hope this thread might be useful to some other people, thank you @Colif and @--SID-- for the help, I am really happy to see that this community has a big heart!!

If any mods can mark this thread as solved, it would be really appreciated since I don't know how to do it x)

Its a error on the software that lets you mark your own question as the best one. SO if neither of the 2 people you mentioned were actually the ones who helped the most, I will make post as solved and no one gets the points...
