Hey everybody

I recently gave my PC a fresh install of W8.1 because it would not connect to the internet and I figured this could maybe fix it. The problem is still there though. I've spent the last 5 hours googling and trying to find any possible solutions but haven't been able to find anything to fix it yet.

When I run the Windows Troubleshooter it disables it and re-enables the LAN driver but still doesn't fix anything. At the end it gives me 2 errors that it can't fix which are:

1. The default gateway is not available
2. "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

I've googled these and have tried several things involving working with the Ipv4 protocol but nothing seems to work. If anybody knows anything I'd really appreciate it. Here is a log when I type in ipconfig /all:

C:\Users\Ashton>ipconfig /all

I am currently using my laptop which is connected via wifi to the router. My desktop (the one with issues) is conncted via Powerline to the router. Other devices can connect normally, my desktop is the only one having issues.

Here is some more context. This all happened early this morning when I was trying to test port forwarding and saw something that suggested I manually enter a DNS server and showed me where. I then clicked the radio bubble and manually entered it, but the video never said anything about checking the "Validate settings upon exit" box. After okay-ing the boxes I instantly lost internet access and since then haven't been able to do much about it.

I've tried changing the settings back to obtaining them automatically, but Windows just replaces my IPv4 with an autoconfigured one.

After a while I've seemed to finally be able to manually enter my IP address, because when I troubleshoot it now, all it says is "The default gateway is not available"

EDIT:

Here is a picture of my router settings under DHCP. Everything looked normal to me. http://i.imgur.com/Jr6EDnn.png

Here is another picture which has some basic info on my router. (I'm sure the people of Tom's Hardware won't DDOS me)
