I have had these problems with my games crashing all the time and my computer displaying an error message "dqs training failed on pevious boot, reverting to slower dram speed". Some people adviced me to get a new set of RAM so I did. I bought a new 4Gb 800MHz set(2x2Gb).
I don't know if the problem with my games crashing has vanished but my PC still displays the previously mentioned error message and now a new one. It warns me about my attempts of overclocking it when I really haven't.

Just in case here's my gaming rig:

Processor:
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Memory:
2046MB RAM
Hard Drive:
1 TB
Video Card:
ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2
Operating System:
Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.longhorn_rtm.080118-1840)
Motherboard:
MSI K9A2 CF-F AMD 790X ATX

dual gpu crash is no surprise, of course make sure you have the latest mobo and video card drivers. You may even want to check for an updated bios for the motherboard and video card. Check the forums for your motherboard, may even want to email MSI. Who knows , you might hear back.
