That's been a lot of help! It was my case, the switch was stuck! And i thought i had to buy a new proc or mobo... Tnx a lot!

If u dont want to take a screw driver and turn it on by shorting the header or something then put the reset button in place of the power button i had the same problem and found out it was a faulty power button im now using the reset buton as the power swich casuse i couldent afford to buy a new case AND HURRY THIS PROBLEM PUT ME THROUGH 3 MOBO'S.
1st M2N-SLI (gone) 2nd M2N-SLI (gone) 1 XFX nFORCE 750a sli (gone) im now preserving my M3A78-T (just) by using the reset button as the power and remember to leave the POWER SWICH UNPLUGGED

And another thing i no this has absolutly nothing to do with above, but i jus bougt a new raidmax smildon case, had it for 3 days and suddenly the power button packed up, HOW!?!?!?!?

HI! Exactly the same problem here! Solved by clearing the CMOS memory. There is usually a reset jumper wich will erase the bios config and bring it back to factory settings. i did that and it worked. Can't really explain what happend coz the same as you guys i just turned off my pc last night like allways and this morning it start doing the restart thingy and i did'n touch enything inside?!? Enyway i am glad i didn't had to spent days loking for a solution and i hope it will work for you too! Ciao'

there's someone else on this forum has the same or similar problem in regards to swtiching on and then turning off 3 seconds then turning back on. try checking the link bellow.

like everybody else in this forum has suggested, try taking out your mobo and place on a cardboard and connect everything but the cable coming from the case. and use tweases.

Thanks, this helped me find that my memory was causing this problem for me. *Thank God, cuz my computer had been working just fine till this morning.*

I've registered only to thank you. I've been fighting a battle against my PC for the past couple of days, trying to find out what was making it turn off randomly. I knew it weren't the temps, my cooling system is great, and I tested each and every part of it, funny thing is, I did test it out of the case using a screwdriver to turn it on and it worked flawlessly, but, after I put it back in the case after some time it began all over again, I started to believe that it could be a shorting somewhere on the case, but no, it was the bloody on-off button, how could one even cogitate that such an insignificant component could be the problem? Well, you certainly got it right and I'm really thankful that you did, so again, THANK YOU. 😀

P.S. I took the little bastard out and put a replacement I took from an old case in it's place, now everything is perfect again. :sol:

Hello. I have a HP m8000 model. And when I power on my computer it will turn on for about 3 seconds then turn right back off. I think my power button is stuck on the ON position. But in my model of HP it doesn't have power and reset plugins.
So I can't switch them out. My case doesn't have a reset button. Is there anyway for me to power on my computer without using the power button?
Please help. Thank you.
