My computer won't pick up all of my RAM

Intel - Core i5-7600K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor ASRock - H110M-ITX/ac Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard G.Skill - Aegis 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory Seagate - BarraCuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive MSI - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Video Card EVGA - 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply Thermaltake - Core V1 Mini ITX Tower Case

I just installed a new Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Single DDR4 2400 stick of ram and my Pc recognizes the new stick but not the old one.
I've tried resetting the CMOS and I also have checked various websites that say that the parts should be compatible

1) Use MEMTEST86 to see if the motherboard is actually talking to all the memory. Is that supposed to be 16GB? (If so it probably would say about 16,384MB of memory).

If that's fine then it's a software issue in Windows. If not, it's a hardware issue between the memory and the motherboard.

2) if memory is all detected in Step#1 then try THIS->

msconfig-> (type into start and launch)
boot->
advanced options->

enable maximum memory and reboot (then check Task Manager)

When I used memcheck it said 8 thousand something of about 14 thousand something. I turned on the maximum memory and it still says 8 gigs. For some reason it says I'm only using one channel instead of both.
